    展览“卓别林:卓眼视界” 将于68日在上海余德耀美术馆开幕,本次查理·卓别林的首次大型回顾展由爱丽舍博物馆和余德耀美术馆共同制作呈现。本周六(69日),卓别林之子尤金·卓别林、爱丽舍博物馆馆长塔蒂扬娜·弗兰克、博物馆/美术馆展陈设计师阿德里安·卡迪以及同济大学副教授、电影学者汤惟杰将分别从作为父亲与作为公众形象出现的卓别林、他永恒的照片遗产以及在中国的早期接受等方面各自带来精彩的演讲,为观众呈现卓别林的多面人生。讲座部分结束后,余德耀美术馆总监余至柔也将加入讨论,一起探讨卓别林带给我们欢笑的喜剧背后那些超越表面的丰富感受,以及当代美术馆里的摄影展这些有趣而深刻的话题。对谈将由《三联生活周刊》副主编曾焱主持。

    在讲座开始前,塔蒂扬娜·弗兰克将于13:00开始为公众带来一场英文的展览导览。导览无需预约,凭展览门票免费参与。

     

    关于嘉宾:

    尤金·卓

    生于1953年,在查理·卓别林和乌娜·卓别林的孩子们中排行第五,是他们八个孩子中第一个出生于瑞士的。他从小在沃韦市科尔西耶村的巴恩庄园(Manoir de Ban)长大,庄园在2016年被改建成为“卓别林的世界”博物馆。

    从伦敦皇家戏剧艺术学院毕业后,尤金在日内瓦大剧院担任舞台监督,后来在巴兰钦芭蕾舞团工作。之后他又在位于蒙特勒的山中工作室(Mountain Studios)担任录音师,为滚石乐队、大卫·鲍伊、皇后乐队、贝西伯爵、艾拉·费兹杰拉、雷·查尔斯等许多前来蒙特勒录制唱片的音乐家录音。

    尤金还创立了南方电视(TV Sud),一个给在法国的非洲人看的电视频道。随后基于他父亲查理·卓别林的生活、音乐和《我的礼物》这部关于卓别林的纪录片编剧和制作了音乐剧《微笑》。

    尤金的兴趣还在于喜剧,现担任瑞士沃韦国际喜剧电影节主席。然而他最擅长的还是传统马戏艺术这一领域,曾多年担任诺克马戏团艺术指导和加拿大沃德勒伊多里翁国际马戏节顾问。如今他经常受邀担任全世界的马戏艺术大赛评委。

     

    塔蒂扬娜·弗兰克

    自2015年起,出任洛桑爱丽舍博物馆馆长。之前,塔蒂扬娜·弗兰克曾负责日内瓦克劳德·毕加索资料馆并管理包括大卫·道格拉斯·邓肯资料馆在内的重要摄影收藏。她也担任许多国际性展览的策展人,包括:“混合体——假象身体,线条之美:吉尔曼与冈萨雷斯-法拉摄影收藏展”;“尼古拉斯·萨瓦里:征服者”;“陌生的熟悉:关于瑞士的外部观点”;“未来记忆:过去,现在和未来之间的摄影对话”;“工作中的毕加索:大卫·道格拉斯·邓肯的镜头之下”;“动物性的一部分”等。塔蒂扬娜·弗兰克也是“收藏:爱丽舍博物馆”总监和ELSE杂志的主编。她参与一些知名机构的文化政策制定并在瑞士和国际上担任许多荣誉职位。

     

    阿德里安·卡迪

    1972年出生于法国,在进入法国高等应用美术学校和国立装饰艺术学院接受家具设计训练之前,阿德里安·卡迪曾在文科预科班(Hypokhâgne)学习法国文学。

    他的设计由Artemide、Ligne Rose、Cinna、Perimeter Editions、Saazs等众多知名家具和照明品牌的制作销售,许多公立的设计机构如国家当代艺术基金会(法国), 装饰艺术博物馆(巴黎), 贝伦设计中心(里斯本)已将他的作品列为永久收藏。

    基于在产品设计方面的成功,他于2000年创立了阿德里安·卡迪工作室并拓展至博物馆设计和展览展陈设计。工作室很快与卢浮宫、阿迦汗文化信托基金会、肯尼迪表演艺术中心和华盛顿赫施霍恩博物馆、洛杉矶奥斯卡电影博物馆等众多国际性机构,以及Foster+Partners、SANAA、大卫·奇普菲尔德事务所、槙文彦等世界顶尖建筑师建立了长期的合作关系。

    其广泛和综合的设计方法获得了国际性的成功。他迄今为止最知名的作品包括卢浮宫朗斯分馆(法国,2012年)博物馆设计;改造开罗伊斯兰艺术博物馆(埃及,2010年);多伦多阿迦汗博物馆(加拿大,2014年);近期完成的项目包括布莱朗库尔的法裔美国人移民博物馆(法国,2017年)和加拿大人与原住民国立艺术博物馆(渥太华,2017年)。

    目前正在进行的项目包括:和大卫·奇普菲尔德事务所共同打造的伦敦皇家艺术学院(2018年开馆);与Foster+Partners合作的法国纳博讷罗马古物博物馆(2019开馆);巴黎克卢尼博物馆的法国中世纪国立博物馆部分(2020年开馆),以及得克萨斯州达拉斯安可公园街头艺术博物馆(2019年开放)。

    未来,阿德里安·卡迪希望借由这些合作关系发展新的合作伙伴和创新的工作方法,并把每一个项目都视作一次机会,去创造独特且合理的设计:让年轻一代可以接受的构思博物馆设计的新方法,使设计和内容符合观众的期望,并给予观众视觉及教育上的愉悦体验。

    About the Activity

    The exhibition of “Charlie Chaplin. A Vision” will be presented on June 8th in Yuz Museum. The major retrospective exhibition is coproduced by the Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne and Yuz Museum, Shanghai. This Saturday, June 9th, we’re honored to have Eugene Chaplin (son of Charlie Chaplin), Tatyana Franck (Director of the Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne), Adrien Gardère (museographer and scenographer) and Tang Weijie (associate professor in Tongji University and film scholar) with us to talk about Chaplin as a father and public figure, Chaplin’ s timeless photography legacy, and Chaplin’s early recognition in China. After presenting four different facets of Charlie Chaplin by our guest speakers, Justine Alexandria, Director of Yuz Museum, will join the panel discussion on the richness of Chaplin’s comedy beyond the superficial, and photography exhibition in contemporary art museum. Zeng Yan, deputy editor-in-chief of Life Week will host the panel.

    Right before yuztalk, Tatyana Franck will have a pubic-guided tour in English at 13:00 with a valid exhibition ticket; no reservation needed.

     

    About the Panelists

    Eugene Chaplin

    Born in 1953, Eugene Chaplin was number 5 of a family of eight children. He was the first of Charlie and Oona Chaplin’s children to be born in Switzerland where he grew up at the Manoir de Ban in Corsier sur Vevey, (converted in 2016 into the museum CHAPLIN’s WORLD.)

    After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, he worked at the Geneva Opera house as Stage manager, and later with the Balanchine Ballet. He moved to work at Mountain Studios in Montreux as sound engineer for the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Queen, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles and many more musicians who came to record in Montreux.

    Eugene founded TV Sud, a TV channel for Africans in France, and later wrote and produced a musical “Smile”, based on his father’s life and music and a documentary about his father – “My Tribute”.

    His interest also extends to comedy, being the president of the International Comedy Film Festival of Vevey, Switzerland, but his finest expertise is in the field of traditional circus arts, having worked as artistic director of the Nock Circus for many years and been consultant to the International Circus Festival of Vaudreuil-Dorion, in Canada. Today he is regularly invited to sit on the jury of circus art competitions the world over.

     

    Tatyana Franck

    Director of the Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne since 2015, Tatyana Franck has previously led the Claude Picasso Archives based in Geneva and managed important photographic collections, amongst them, the David Douglas Duncan Archives. Curator of numerous international exhibitions including Hybrids – The Body as the Imaginary, The Beauty of Lines. Masterpieces from the Gilman and Gonzales-Falla collection; Nicolas Savary. Conquistador; Unfamiliar Familiarities. Outside Views on Switzerland; The Memory of the Future.  Photographic Dialogues between Past, Present and Future; Picasso at Work, Through the Lens of David Douglas Duncan; La Part Animale. Tatyana Franck is also Director of the “Collection – Musée de l’Elysée” and Chief Editor of the magazine ELSE. She is involved in the cultural policy of several renowned institutions and holds various honorary positions in Switzerland and abroad.

     

    Adrien Gardère

    Born in France in 1972, Adrien Gardère studied French Literature in Hypokhâgne before training as a furniture designer at the École Supérieure d’Arts Appliqués Boulle and the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs.

    His designs have been produced and distributed by major furniture and lighting brands including Artemide, Ligne Roset, Cinna, Perimeter Editions and Saazs, and entered the permanent collection of public design institutions such as the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain (France), the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Paris), the Design Centro do Bélem (Lisbon).

    Building on his success in the field of product design, Adrien Gardère founded his Studio in 2000 and expanded to museography and exhibition design.

    Adrien Gardère’s Studio quickly established enduring relationships both with major international institutions such as the Musée du Louvre, the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC, the Academy Museum of Motion Picture in Los Angeles, and with some of the world’s leading architects such as Foster+Partners; SANAA, David Chipperfield and Fumihiko Maki.

    His comprehensive and integrated approach has met with international success. Some of his most acclaimed work to date includes the museography of the Musée du Louvre-Lens (France, 2012) the renovation of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo, (Egypt, 2010), the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto (Canada, 2014), the recently completed the French-American Museum in Blérancourt (France, 2017), and the Canadian and Indigenous Art Galleries of the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, 2017).

    Current projects are the Royal Academy of Arts in London with architects David Chipperfield (opening 2018), the Roman Antiquities Museum in Narbonne, France with architects Foster and Partners (opening 2019), the French National Museum of the Middle Ages, Musée de Cluny, Paris (opening 2020), or the Encore Park Museum Of Street Culture in Dallas, TX (opening 2019).

    Looking forward, Adrien Gardère wants to build on these relationships, develop new partnerships and ways of working creatively, and sees every project as an opportunity to create a unique and legitimate design: a new way of conceiving museography, appropriate to a new generation, in which design and content meet the visitors’ expectations and provide a visual, educative and uplifting experience.

     

    Tang Weijie

    Tang Weijie is the associate professor in School of Humanities, Tongji University and the master supervisor of Chinese Department. He is also the executive director of Shanghai Association of Film Criticism, a member of Shanghai International Film Festival selection committee and Shanghai writers' association. His research interests involve the fields of Comparative Poetics, urban history and Urban Studies, Visual Culture Studies and Film History, etc.

      由于时间关系只听了半场没有参与互动问答,但是听汤老师介绍老上海与卓别林的渊缘,听卓别林的儿子聊父亲生活中的一面,听策展人布展 对细节和叙事的展示,自己也翻出摩登时代和大独裁者等来看 谢谢这次的分享会

    余德耀美术馆坐落于“西岸文化走廊”,东临滨江的龙腾大道,北依丰谷路,由原龙华机场的大 机库改建而成。总面积9000多平米的建筑中,老机库改建的主展厅就占了3000多平米,其特有的 巨大空间与张扬的结构感,与余先生以装置为主的藏品相得益彰。
